An engaging and motivating teacher:

My surprising new retirement hobby as a harpist is entirely due to Fiona’s passion for the instrument which I encountered at a serendipitous attendance of one of her harp ensemble recitals.
She readily took up the challenge of teaching an old dog (with very limited musical background) some new tricks and took me on as a pupil. Her patience and positive, encouraging attitude seems to be paying dividends as I am now well and truly hooked, and even have a couple of grade exams under my belt.
Fiona has a professional warm and friendly personality and takes time to understand her pupils in order to best assist their personal development.

I have been having lessons with Fiona for almost 5 years, starting when I took early retirement. To anyone of any age who has an interest in taking up this beautiful instrument, I can highly recommend Fiona, she makes learning fun and stress free! Fiona tailors lessons to the individual needs and abilities of her pupils, and has endless good humour and patience. Fiona is an acclaimed harpist and her enthusiasm and encouragement that she brings to her lessons inspires her pupils to develop their own skills. Learning to play the harp was always something I had wanted to do but thought I could never achieve. I would recommend anyone of any age to take it up, and would suggest people consider maybe renting a small harp at first, an option I wish I had known about at the very start.

I have been learning the harp for many years now, around 20, and until I met Fiona I had never got very far! So, what can I say… Fiona has the patience of a saint. She notices and encourages even the mildest musical improvements and truly brings a passion to this instrument that is infectious (probably the wrong choice of word at this delicate Covid-19 moment, but I’m sure the knowledge and enthusiasm could cause a pandemic!) Fiona’s method of teaching is highly approachable, flexible and friendly. I could not recommend her more highly. She will have you playing pieces you never thought possible in no time at all!

It was a pleasure to meet you on Saturday and thank you again for your outstanding playing; your musicianship and expression is stunning!

Everyone enjoyed it. Your Salvi Italian harp really is a gorgeous instrument as is your gold harp on your business card.

I would love to play ‘My one and only love’ with you on my Selmer Mark VI Tenor saxophone one day!

So sorry it’s taken us a while to say this, honeymoon and getting back on our feet has taken a while!

Thank you so much for playing at our wedding at the Ravenswood.
We had so many lovely comments about your music on the day and it really made our ceremony special. Bittersweet Symphony set me off and started the tears!
We have the video from the day as well so we can always appreciate how beautiful it all was.

Thank you again!

Wow just WOW! You were incredible! We had the best wedding day of our entire lives and we are still so overwhelmed from all the love and well wishes we received. I wish we could’ve sat there all day and listened to you play. Thank you so much.

We hired Fiona to play her harp during our wedding ceremony, canapés and drinks. Her music was absolutely stunning. Very professional and efficient from consulting, booking, helping us choose the right songs and up until playing the day itself. She is very skilled and talented – huge selection of songs. When we got engaged in Venice, there was a harpist playing, so it meant the world for us to have a harpist at our wedding day. Thank you so much Fiona for making our day extra special! We will remember our wedding ceremony forever and treasure the amazing memories you’ve helped make. From the new Mr and Mrs Edwards

My wife and I had our wedding at Field Place on 17th May 2019. We had Fiona playing for our ceremony and drinks reception. She was brilliant throughout, playing everything we wanted and even a very special “Knight Rider” surprise for me which to say was last minute was an understatement! Fiona took it all in her stride and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her for any special occasion.

Fiona played at our wedding on 9th June 2018 and i cannot thank her enough for making our day even more perfect. I had a very relaxed morning getting ready and the reality of the day only sunk in when i heard her beautiful harp as i arrived, and was the perfect thing to walk up the isle to. The sound of the harp is stunning and carried over the field and lake at our venue, it was a huge talking point for our guests and gave the wedding breakfast so much more ambience. The booking process was easy and price wise i would certainly not question her value. Id love to hold another event just to see her again. THANK YOU FIONA.

Just wanted to say a HUGE, colossal thank you for playing at our wedding! You were absolutely wonderful and I kept nearly crying as I heard you play during the ceremony. I’m so sorry I didn’t manage to get over to speak to you- by the time the photographer had finished with us you were gone and I was gutted I didn’t get to tell you how wonderful I thought you had played. It really made the whole ceremony so special and thank you so much for learning all those songs…you are a very talented lady! I will 100% be recommending you to everybody I know- so many people commented on how beautiful you sounded! I will send you through any professional shots we get of you. Oh and thank you so much for the CD…We gave it a listen and it’s just wonderful!

Best wishes and thank you so much again!
